Christmas Wishes from Creative LIME

Merry Christmas Creative LIME 2014

Christmas Wishes from Creative LIME, Jenna and baby Lynden. For Lynden's first Christmas and holiday season we have enjoyed creating new memories, being grateful and giving. Lynden's first Santa visit was at the Peak of Christmas at Grouse Mountain, she did great however at the moment she was about to have a nice warm nap in her snowsuit. When mommy had to unbundle her and place her on Santa's knee. Lynden's love of animals keeps growing, she was trilled with the reindeer at Grouse Mountain.

The next experience for Lynden was at Bright Nights, she was mesmerized by all the lights, train and displays. I love that donations go towards the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund because my parents were lucky enough to come out of a house fire safety a number of years ago. However their are people who may not be so lucky, and need your help. Be grateful this holiday season and love with all your heart.

To celebrate Lynden's 8 month birthday we went to Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden, the light display was truly breath taking and no rain that night we were lucky.

Christmas morning was a delight Lynden was exploring bows, wrapping paper and gifts. She is the best gift in my life and so grateful to be her mother. Lynden's 1st Christmas was priceless.

This season is about giving and truly grateful for the moments to give back. Donating at Bright Lights, dropping off formula to a mother in need, donating a teddy bear at Ikea, donating gently used clothing to the Port Coquitlam Youth Centre, donated to Make a Wish Foundation and donated warm items towards Yoga Generation's Fundraiser Cold Hands Warm Heart.

Thank you to all the past, present and future clients! Creative LIME would not be able to continue growing without your support.

"Keep your Christmas-heart open all the year round."

Lynden Everly Seltzer

The Seltzer Family and Creative LIME, would love to introduce our baby girl Lynden Everly Seltzer. Time is flying by and she is already 3months+ it feels like only yesterday she was brand new and only 7 lbs. Over the past 3 months we been treated to the most amazing experiences that only a child can provide. The first time she focussed and truly saw us, her first bath, her first real smile, the look of pure joy on her face first thing when we say good morning.  So many incredible firsts and amazing experiences with many more to come. Lynden is truly a delightful, happy and amazing baby. 3 things that make her unhappy are being hungry, needing a diaper change and being over tired, other than that she is always smiling. My husband and I could not be more happy with our new journey as parents.

Newborn Photography Session with Baby Oliver

Creative LIME - had the honour and privilege of capturing the newly minted family of Matt, Deanne and baby Oliver. Oliver was a breeze to work with, already such a handsome boy - whose ability to work the camera was that of a seasoned pro with his expressive eyebrows and smirks giving way to quiet innocence. Creative LIME could not be happier for Matt and Deanne. Baby Oliver is truly a dream come true.

Creative LIME - Maternity Session with Ria and Jeremy

Creative LIME - had a truly wonderful and fun morning shooting Ria's baby bump! The love and excitement radiated off of Jeremy and Ria. What a touching experience that Chelsea gifted to her friend Ria!

Before you were born I carried you under my heart.  From the moment you arrived in this world until the moment I leave it, I will always carry you in my heart.

Krause Berry Farms - Mission Statement

To provide and promote the best quality products for the health and well being of all families in our community, now and for future generations.

We strive to do this by integrating new growing techniques with traditional methods, to use the whole green farming approach, along with implementing IPM (Integrated Pest Management) on our berry farm. We are willing to try new technology that both enhances the quality of the products we grow, while protecting our environment.

Our farm and field workers are working together to provide a clean, safe, and fun environment at our family owned and operated farm. We commit to incorporating the fullness of integrity, fairness, fun, and hard work into all we do. We are continually looking for, and incorporating new ideas to enhance and involve our community.

We accept the social responsibilities inherent to being part of an agriculture industry, community and world larger than ourselves.

We focus on viability, while at the same time commit to the values of justice and caring. We respect our staff and our guests because it is through their support we are able to continue farming and producing local food.

Farm Treats our Creative LIME's favourite!

Creative LIME brought home a Berry Cream Cake to share at a family BBQ after adding a magical touch at the Canada Day Celebrations. It was a great way to end a busy day with such a tasty treat.

Family Time Spent at the Farm

My husband Kyle and I spent a fabulous afternoon at the farm last summer with our nephew Jack. We arrived back home from our honeymoon in Hawaii and wanted to spend some quality time with Mr. Jack before he headed back up to Yellowknife. He always talks about the trip to the farm and next time he is down we will be bringing him back for another visit.

Family Photography Session with the Neufeld's

What joy capturing a truly amazing family, the Neufeld's last weekend. Creative LIME brought along bubbles and chalk, the whole family had some fun with it. It is a great way to break up the session.

Bikes Against Bullies - Creative LIME

Creative LIME was truly honoured to be part of such an amazing event, with a strong and deep connection. Growing up in Port Coquitlam and having Carol Todd as a teacher at Kilmer Elementary School - the horrific passing of her daughter Amanda Todd 'Princess Snowflake' hit home for me. With that being said, when I was asked by Tneesa Tyerman if Creative LIME would be able to come out – without hesitation the answer was YES there was nothing that would stop me from being a part of such an amazing and uplifting event. Creative LIME had a wonderful day, Face Painting all ages at the Bikes Against Bullies Rally, Our slogan “Art For All” on this day was truly that. People of all ages and walks of life took part in the day showing their support against bullying and in remembering Amanda!

Bikes against Bullies is a rally in support of Anti-Bullying awareness and our dear friend Amanda Todd.

Bikes against Bullies 2013 is the first of what we hope to become an annual event in support of anyone who feels affected by bullying. This rally is being held in memory of Amanda Todd (aka Princess Snowflake), a dear friend of ours who because of the affects of bullying was taken from us last year. Please join us rain or shine (most likely shine) on June 9th, 2013 from 12-2 pm to enjoy performances, speeches, food and beverage and family friendly fun as we rally together to look at the affects that bullying has on society and what we can do to help. Anyone interested in volunteering please leave a message on this FB page for more information. Thank you everyone for the ever growing support. The address for the complex is 2150 Wilson Avenue, Port Coquitlam, BC V3C 6J5

Newborn Photography Session for Maya

Creative LIME took on our 2nd newborn session at the Reaveley's home. Beautiful Maya Sophia was born May 24th 11:01pm 7lbs 9oz. Maya was quite content during the session, then Madison her wonderful big sister got home from school and joined in. Lisa was already back at it with BodyZone Fitness completing measurements for her clients the day I came over to capturer Maya. It has been a pleasure working with Lisa Reaveley over the years with her first bump with Madison, to Belly Painting, Madison's 6th Birthday Party and now Maya's Newborn Session. Lisa is a true power mom and she is an inspiration.

First Newborn Photography Session

Creative LIME and artist Jenna Seltzer is very excited to share with you my experience capturing a beautiful baby girl Finley. I have been researching, watching youTube videos and pinning ideas for days leading up to the photography session. I gathered props, fabrics, scarves, blankets, flowers and a woven basket. I was a little nervous, not knowing what to expect but staying patience and relaxed was key. All that was running through my mind was if I get just two keepers I would be extremely happy, as an artist I could move forward from there. There were two funny moment from the session, one was when Stephanie and I were just finishing up - 1. while getting one more shot in, I said "maybe Finley needs a diaper, it has been a long time" no more than minute later - poop. For the  second moment, I was wrapping up Finley when suddenly I felt something warm - she peed on me. I guess you should Never talk about either you will probably jinx it.  All in all I had a wonderful experience, and I look forward to creating props, furthering my knowledge and shooting another newborn session.

Items I learned.

  • Have props on hand that alter the look - which can be done in an easy fashion
  • Go with the flow of the baby and be patience
  • Bring a change of clothes for the artist
  • Never talk about poop - you will Jinx it

Port Coquitlam turned 100 years old - March 7th

It has been a very exciting year so far with the 100th Birthday celebrations - with the city that I grew up in and contribute to as the Recreation Program Assistant for Children Services. I have and carry deep roots with Port Coquitlam. I am grateful to be apart of the celebrations and share Creative LIME - Art For All with the community on March 7th.

Burn Awareness Week Feb 3rd - 9th, 2013

Happy February! Love, friendship and full hearts are in the air. Lets take some time to be safe and build awareness. From Feb 3rd to 9th is burn awareness week - look at some of the great links below for great resources.

"Most adults realize that children need to be kept safe from fire or hot objects like the stove, but they do not realize that hot liquids are just as dangerous,” says Tim Baillie, Burn Fund Director and Chair, Burn Awareness Week program. “Hot liquids burn just like fire.”

Be Safe!

Creative LIME - Orange Muffins

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour & 1/2 cup whole wheat
  • 2 tablespoons flax seeds
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup milk & 2 tablespoons
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • orange zest from 2 oranges
  • Half an orange - small pieces and juice
  • 1/2 cup organic sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter - cubed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Oven 400 degrees F & 20-25 Minutes

Combine 1 1/2 cup flour, 3/4 cup sugar, salt and baking powder. Place vegetable oil into 1 cup measuring cup then add egg + milk to fill the cup. Add maple syrup and combine with flour mixture. Fold in orange pieces and orange juice. Fill muffin pan and add crumb topping.

To make crumb topping

  • Mix together 1/2 cup organic sugar, 1/3 cup flour, 1/4 cup butter cubed and cinnamon. Mix with fork.

I love this recipe because it is very easy to alternate and change up. I have made with blueberries and chocolate chips. I have added the whole wheat flour and flax seeds for a little healthier option. Dairy free option by taking out the butter and using brown sugar and maple syrup for the crumb topping. Also taking out 1/3 milk and adding Happy Planet - Abundant C. Having fun with it and I believe the best part is the crumb topping.

Our hearts grow...

Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time.
